Evolving FAQs

It's taken me longer than I expected to get around to posting things on this page, so I think it's best to see this page as in a continual state of evolution.

What's with the Snake?

Some people have asked me about the snake image on this website and my business cards. I'll write a more thorough explanation at some point, but very briefly the logo is a caduceus, which is carried by Mercury, the messenger of the gods in Roman mythology. It's a symbol of communication between the heights and the depths, with the twisting snakes symbolising integration and renewal, and the wings communicating freedom and spaciousness. Although it differs from the medical symbol of the Rod of Asclepius (which only has one snake and doesn't have any wings) it is sometimes used by paramedics and medical corps, and it's quite often used by psychiatrists.
